A Long Moment

The darkness of my heart hid the path.
Once again I saw nothing ahead of me.

Without my vision, I lost my purpose.
My stumbling taught me how lost I was.

I wandered in a desolate land.
I knew that I couldn’t go on.

I prayed for light and a way out.
A friend brought a candle for me.

I feel hope now; I progress each day.
I push onward and live in peace.
