A Pleasant Evening

The day’s bright light has begun to fade.
I feel the evening air cooling.
It fills my vision with red and crimson.

The sunset floats over a small grove of trees.
It casts a long shadow across my field.
The stilling of the wind seems a sign.

This day has had a pleasant southern breeze.
I am watching the colored sky fade into darkness.
The air has been warm and it fills me with hope.
I walk inside for my dinner is ready.

I know every day is different.
I am in awe of special evenings like this.
They leave me with a sense of wonder and beauty.
