Sitting Still

I sit still as the day passes by.
As my heart sinks, I begin to weep.
My experience is that these times pass quickly.

I was laughing this morning.
I started to grow stern as the day passed.

Now it is tomorrow.
The sun in my heart is shining again.
I smile to show that light to my friends.

I try to share my hard times.
But, with the sadness comes a sense of shame.

I am patient because I am full of hope.
The new dawn brings me life.
I run forward to share my joy.
I am in motion today.
