The Waters Rose

As the waters rose I ran away.
I was full of fear and my terror grew.
As the valley filled, I saw the waves.
I was only aware of growing danger.

I ran into the woods and tore my clothes.
I started running again as the rain started to pound.
I was losing hope that I would survive.
I watched the sky fill with dark clouds again.

I wanted to hide from it all.
As I saw a rainbow, I remembered God’s promise.
I grew calm and peace filled my mind.
