A Long Day

I wait as the day grows long.
I see long shadows creep along.
I feel the moon and sun as they go around.
I feel strange as each moment passes.

Why do my days seem so short?
After each, I sleep too long.
I will wait for morning’s light.
I will wait to face new challenges.

I must remember the love shared with me.
That love rises around me in the dark.
I go to bed for another long night.
