Solitary Night

What will I do tonight?
I love to spend my time alone.
I wait with a solitary mind.

The growth of my circle was steady.
It grew beyond my limited vision.
I am surrounded by the love of friends.
I was not aware that they cared.

I spend time with them.
It never seems like real love.
I am separate from my companions.
I laugh but cannot find any humor.

Soon I will meet the one.
He can fill my eyes with beauty.
He can raise my sullen smile.

I am not waiting in darkness.
My eyes see light even at night.
I wonder what I should do next.
I am not lonely in my patient love.
