To See a Star

My eyes follow a distant star.
Its light grows strong because night is here.
The star’s beauty fades as dawn approaches.

Many opportunities float through my life.
Each one could become a dream quest.
A friend might share his light with me.
He shares with me his intimate goals.

We speak of them and share our imagination.
Even so, our thoughts may be like the star.
They start to shine brightly, but fade at sunrise.
