How I felt today is not in question.
The day began at sunset.
Filled with fear I tossed and turned.
Eventually, without warning, I slept.
My dreams were silent and I awoke with clarity.
Anxiously, I reflected on yesterday’s terrors.
Slowly, as my eye turned inward, I saw the sunrise.
The effort at dusk transformed into a calmer sea.
I could have never predicted the oasis of today.
I was fed and my thirst for joy had been slaked.
