Travelers

My thoughts had formed as a mist.
I smiled as they grew solid.
I was no longer afraid or sad.

I watched the city from a distance.
As the lights faded I turned away.
I have left my past behind.

The road is open today.
I watch the passing trees.
I do not know my destination.

Today I met some fellow travelers.
We shared our stories.
We forged a common bond.

We have different goals.
We each left a different city behind.
Even so, we met to give each joy.
