An Afternoon Storm

The storm had passed slowly.
The sun set in the clear western sky.
Then I saw a brilliant rainbow above.

My mood was brightened by the sight.
I began to feel my heart warming.
I forgot the storm’s fury.

The colors of the sunlight changed.
The trees slowly began to calm.
Peace started in my garden again.

The storm washed the worry from the day.
I no longer felt inferior and helpless.
When tomorrow comes, I will live for that day.
