My Time

Today I step forth boldly.

I will not waste my time today.
I rose from my bed alert and strong.

I consider yesterday’s failures.
I accept the choices that went awry.
Every night I review my steps.
I see where I stumbled and fell.

As I awaken, I hear singing birds.
They chatter away as they dance.
Their melody reminds me of better days.

They are full of a purified energy.
The life force erupts from their wings.
As I watch them in the window,
I remember that I am loved.
Many friends surround me every day.
