Please Stop the War

I truly hope for love.
I can learn from my setbacks.
My self-obsession is a challenge.
I can win a battle today,
but I know that the war is not over.

Each day begins with a struggle.
I wake up and fight off sleep.
The evening ends with a simple prayer.

Wars are not won by blitzkrieg.
Peace does not spring from cleverness.
The war drags on but the winner doesn’t flag.
He doesn’t retreat or change course.
I choose to advance, fight and prepare for more.
