In the Rain

rain color
I saw an animal in the falling rain.

Running across the street alone,
I saw it gallop over a puddle.

I was waiting for the downpour to end.
Every day I step outside alone.
I memorize the sky as I look up.

I saw the clouds end in the distance.
The sunlight beyond them was full of power.
I took a new path through the neighborhood today.
I cannot understand why I am sad.

The day is gone now.
I saw it disappear.
My voice is silent again.

Now that I am home,
I see that the rain is stopping.

Can I find love again?
