Melting Snow

While I slept, a cold blanket fell.

Sunlight revealed the morning snow.
The moon faded as the day grew long.

I wandered the streets alone today.
I wasn’t lonely; I wasn’t sad.
I just wanted to see the icy trees.

The sidewalks are clearing.
The snow has been melting all day.
The winter sun is framed in blue.
I hope it will snow again soon.
