A Dark Sky

I awoke today beneath a dark sky.
I am troubled by the visions I had seen.
I cannot describe it; it was beyond words.

My fear would not let me sleep again.
I stepped outside and the sky lightened.
The birds reminded me that it was a new day.

I want to feel connected again.
The coming night worries me.
What if those phantoms attack me again?

I resist the urge to run.
I will face my demons with courage.
I am stronger than any dream can ever be.
