An Eagle in the Woods

OnTheWingsOfAnEagleI walked the woods alone.
The night began around me.

Across the field was a light.
Children ran to chase a rabbit.
It scampered across the grass.
An eagle swooped down to take it.

The dropping bird fell like a stone.
It took the rabbit with its talons.
As the bird lifted its prey to the sky
the power of its flight was striking

Words barely describe the scene.
Memories replay the evening again.
Every scene in life is complex.
It is a blend of concrete words
and fading thoughts of beauty
