Jewels in the Sky

Distant Planet
See the jewels in the sky—they each are a precious world.
Someday you may walk on one. Someday you will travel far.
Sometimes, I expect too much from the future.
I want to promise you the journey that fills my dreams.

Pictures of alien mountains dart through my mind.
It would astound me—if I could only follow my heart.
When I imagine these places, I earnestly hope for success.
I think of a future filled with great deeds and adventures.

The world below my feet is solid and familiar.
I would give it up for a trip to a different world.
I’ve been through it in my mind again and again.
The possibilities seem just beyond my grasp.

Can you imagine a glimpse of what I see above?
Bright spots of light draw near as the sun sets.
Just look at the sparkling lights above.
As in ages past, their mysteries are infinite.
