The cold weather has lingered on.
But, I felt a tinge of warmth
from the hearts of those who love me.

Today, I am not alone.
Today, I remember the ones around me.
Today, I am grateful for my friends.

Soon, the summer sun will shine.
Porch lights will glow into the night
as fireflies sparkle on the lakeside

I am glad that I’ve had another chance.
I am looking forward to the days to come.
But, without the ability to express love,
my warmth would fade into a cold, dark winter.
