Gratitude

A Light of Hope
I walked through the parking lot.
I saw the stairs approaching.
I walked up the steps.
I heard the insects calling.
I read the sign welcoming me.
I opened the door.
I turned on a light.
I had a glass of water.
I remembered the day just past.
I called down the hall.
I saw my parents come by.
I drove down the driveway.
I talked to a friend.
I smiled.
