When did the economy begin to fail?
Some players were rushing ahead.
Others had faltered as society crumbled.
I can explain it to you, but does it matter?
My friends were troubled by the changes.
One had to leave his ancestral home behind.
Life was hopeless for another as her world decayed.
The foundations of life shook all around us.
I’ve been searching through my abandoned home.
Weeds are growing through the pavement.
Branches have fallen from the dying trees.
I will return to the shelters tomorrow.
I have learned that the world will continue to turn.
I hope this crisis will leave as suddenly as it came.
I am ready for the light to change.
We all hope for a new beginning.
