The Path

I’ve been watching a quiet rain.
I am following a difficult road.
Did I lose the path to a safe haven?

I do not feel that I belong.
I wonder about strange mysteries.
This place is alien and confusing.
I have been planning to travel away.
I have lost my home; I have few choices.

I am at the shore of the ocean.
I see seagulls darting here and there.
I want to hope as I look for clues.
The sand is wet along the beach.

The world was not made for one like me.
I sink beneath the waves and try to sleep.

A peace flows over me and I rest.
