Rainfall

I watched the rain fall today.
The clouds parted briefly, showing the sun.
Today, the rain matched my heart.
I was sad, but I could not weep.

That night, the moon rose alone.
I saw the brightest stars.
I knew the darkness in me was gone.

This morning I have found new hope.
I saw a beautifully green lawn.
As if new, the streets were clean.
Today I am smiling again.
