Obscured By Clouds

I watched the clouds obscure the sun.
Its brightness faded for a moment.
Nocturnal sorrows begin with sunset.
Joy returns with the breaking sunrise.

I walk along the sunny path.
The squirrels are running away now.
The birds are silent today,
but the sky is alive with color.

When the clouds part in the afternoon
daylight flows around me tenderly.
I have so many moments to remember.
Today, night will be waiting for the moon.
