Words Alone

Sorrow and loss had filled my spirit.
You had words meant to help me,
but their meaning was lost to me.
While they had simple ideas,
I only heard confusion in them.

The days without sleep are fading.
I had been trying to rest, but found no peace.
My familiar books are not so mysterious.
They center me and my life has been restored.

I am home now and my mind is clearing.
I feel alone today and I need your smile
