In the Cold

A white dove in flight
My life is cold and dark.

I am stuck in a dismal swamp.
I make slow progress.

Without light, I see nothing.
I forget my old joys.
They are lost in the shadows.

I watched a dove fly over me.
I saw the sunrise.
I have new hope.
Today I will live again.
