Breathing Deeply

My lungs are full.
I breathe deeply today.
I do not take it for granted.

My family is torn apart
by the growing distress.
The neighbors we know
are not trying to understand.

Everyone has been a tease
and they don’t like the story.
I cannot explain it to them enough.

The places I stay
have been pulled apart.
I don’t have enough
Glue and twine to save it all.
