Do Not Sleep

Do not sleep alone.
Do not walk in darkness.
The weather will turn cold.
The world will rest again.

Winter will begin its magic soon.
The landscape will change.
Tall drifts of snow may fill the fields.
Flowers will rest under their white blanket.
My yard will dream of spring.

The days of January are cold.
Under their blanket, nature rests.
The weather’s changes are temporary.
I feel grateful for each season as it comes.
When I sleep, it is with peace and love.
